Julie Himstedt PA-C moved to Colorado from Wisconsin in 1986 after finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. In 1990, she completed her Master of Arts degree in Health Services Management. Julie spent 13 years at home raising her two daughters. When they were young, Julie began working on her prerequisite courses, in anticipation of attending a Physician Assistant Program. Julie graduated from the Physician Assistant program at Red Rocks Community College in 2008. 

Before taking a few years to raise a family, she worked for a residential program for people with developmental disabilities and for The Colorado AIDS Project as a Case Manager. In recent years she volunteers with Indian Hills Fire/Rescues as an EMT. Upon receiving her physician assistant certification, Julie worked for a year in Family Practice in Denver, as well as, rounding on elderly and mentally ill residents in assisted living residences. 

Julie has lived in Indian Hills for 14 yrs with her husband DJ and daughters Mariah and Katherine. Julie is most happy when she can be outdoors hiking, walking her dogs, camping, gardening, playing softball, skiing…… 

Julie is very excited to join the committed and compassionate team of providers and support staff at APHC. While she enjoys seeing patients of all ages, she has a special interest in all stages of women’s health, starting with the teen years. She looks forward to forming productive health care partnerships with the patients of APHC.
